Description
This is a vintage cord minder, possibly by Proctor, from around the 50's, which holds the cord of an iron up and out of the way while ironing. It attaches to the ironing board with a screw clamp and has an electrical outlet so you can plug the iron in and an electrical cord to plug the cord minder into an electrical outlet. The cord of the iron is then secured to the top of the minder and held about 20 in. over the ironing board to keep it out of the way of your ironing. The wire bends with your movement as you iron. When finished ironing, you can leave it attached; you can bend the wire "arm" down and attach it to the ironing board, as it just clamps on.It is chrome colored and made of sturdy metal. The whole item measures about 26 in. from top to bottom. There is some rust on it, as shown in the pics, but it may possibly be removed as it seems to be on the surface.
