    Description

Old time forgery of the 5 cent 1861 Knoxville Tennessee Confederate Postmaster’s Provisional stamp, made by James A. Petrie a long time ago, circa 1870s. He was an Assistant Surgeon in the US Navy during the Civil War. There is a colon between the K of Knoxville and the C of C.H. that the genuine does not have. A very nice sheetlet of 4 showing two stamps inverted or tete-beche.
