    Description

This is a vintage Owens Illinois bottle with a glass stopper top in a beautiful aqua blue color.  The antique bottle is marked on the bottom with the Owens Illinois O within a triangle along with the numbers "14 and "0".  Beneath these numbers are another mark, probably a "3" (its difficult to read) and an "8".  From The Glass Marks identification guide, the number 14 represents the Bridgeton, NJ glass plant and the "0" indicates the year 1930.  This type of bottle was most frequently used for sauces and condiments, such as Lea & Perrins, but were also utilized for other purposes.
My father, an avid bottle hunter, dug this bottle up from the ruins of an old home in Virginia more than 40 years ago.
Its possible that the glass stopper does not go with the bottle but it seems likely as they were found near each other and the color and fit go together. The pretty bottle is in wonderful condition, free from breaks or cracks.  The aqua color is strong and clarity is very nice.  There are a few age related bubbles.  The antique bottle measures about 7.5 " tall and 2" wide.
